Cronulla Girls Boardriders - Round 4

Cronulla Girls Boardriders - Round 4 - 25 June 2011

The weekend saw an absolutely wonderful day of surfing for the Cronulla Girls Boardriders Club.

It was warm for a winters day with light offshore wind and a 1 and a half foot surf on an A frame peak in front of Elouera control tower where the club could run a full surfing program from Whitewash to Mermaids Malibu's to Opens.

A mile of prizes from Sponsors were still up for grabs - with Maddi winning the Wing Wetsuits goodies bag, Jess winning the Surf Dive & Ski Voucher and Karen winning the Case of VB. Well done ladies.

These are some of the photos of the girls, kindly supplied to us by April Charles. Cronulla Girls Boardriders Club is proudly supported by Wing Wetsuits, SDS, Roxy, Wahine, Sun Zapper, VB and Cronulla Surfing Academy.

The 52nd Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament® at Callaway Gardens (Georgia, USA) concluded with Amber Wing as the Women's wakeboard champion and Tim Bradstreet as the Junior Men's champion in Tricks, Jump and Overall.

Amber cemented her first Masters win landing a Whirly Bird and Moby Dick in her first pass plus a Switch Heel 5 on her wild card trick. Behind Amber was Nicola Butler in second, Raimi Merritt in third, and Aussie and Team Wing member Hayley Smith in fourth.

In the Junior Men’s Trick final, Wing team member Tim Bradstreet finished strong with 9,300 points securing his first Masters title.

Tim then had the crowd roaring in the Junior Men’s Jump semifinal as he earned top seed going into the finals where his first jump at 191 feet (58.2m) broke the Masters Course record that had been held by Zack Worden since 2008. Then on Bradstreet’s last jump, he reset the course record to 199 feet (60.65m) claiming the Junior Masters Jump title. Tim's performance earned him Junior Men's Overall Masters Champion.

Congratulations to other Aussies also making the podium including Harley Clifford taking out Men's Wakeboard and Karina Knowlan winning Women's Slalom.

It was a great weekend of results for Aussie wakeboarders and waterskiers, and we are stoked for our Wing Team members Amber, Tim and Hayley!
